Born in California’s San Francisco bay area and relocating to Portland, Oregon around age 13, Jared George has long been interested in the martial arts.
He began his training in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the year 2000 under Bruce Carleton, a black belt under De La Riva 3rd degree black belt Alexey Cruz. Jared received his blue belt under Master Carleton. Upon returning to Oregon, Jared received his purple belt under Master Eben Kaneshiero in the summer of 2010.
He has trained in a variety of places in the United States and Brazil.
As a member of the New Breed Competition team, Jared has competed in various local and national tournaments including the IBJJF Pan Ams and Worlds competitions. Jared also placed second in the North American nationals in 2009 and was the 2009 Oregon Open Super Heavyweight champion.
Jared is an instructor for our Children’s programs and enjoys teaching and working with students very much. He loves to watch people’s excitement grow as they learn more about themselves through the study of Martial Arts.
In addition to training, instructing, and competing, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, music, and culture. He feels it is a great honor to work with such accomplished individuals as Master Johnny, Master Eben, and coach Kurt.
